Install ShaderGlass on Windows 11 and 10
A practical Windows-first setup workflow for ShaderGlass, from graphics requirements to the first CRT preset.
1. Check requirements
Use Win + R, type winver, and confirm your Windows build. On Windows, run dxdiag to review display information and DirectX capabilities. ShaderGlass needs a DirectX 11-capable GPU.
2. Get the application
Choose a supported release. Extract the package if it is provided as a ZIP file. Keep the program directory intact so that bundled shader resources remain available.
3. Test with a desktop window
Open ShaderGlass and apply a basic scanline or CRT effect over a window before testing fullscreen games. This isolates capture issues and makes troubleshooting easier.
4. Save a preset
When the chosen shader looks right, save the configuration as a reusable profile. Profiles let you switch between emulator, video and desktop effects more quickly.
